Sustainability, efficiency, performance: these are the key words leading the revamping project under way at the Novel SpA thermoelectric plant in Novara, for 49% owned by Geogreen.

New GE's hardware and software solutions will help to improve the flexibility, reliability and capacity of the plant - which currently produces up to 100 megawatts - and at the same time will contribute to reduce emissions, in line with the Group's sustainable policies.

GE will upgrade its gas turbine  to increase power and steam for the industrial process at Radici Chimica's chemical plant, a RadiciGroup company specializing in the production of chemical intermediates and nylon polymers that uses about 80 GWh/year of the 700 GWh/year of electricity produced by Novel.

The over 600,000 tons of steam produced per year is transferred, in its entirety, to Radici Chimica SpA, to be used in the production cycle.

Geogreen - that is a RadiciGroup partner in supplying the energy needed for its Specialty Chemicals, High Performance Polymers, Synthetic Fibers & NonWovens business areas –will allow to Radici Chimca SpA to reduce emissions by approximately 35%, thanks to the advantages of cogeneration, which are combined with the use of advanced technology and the reduced environmental impact of natural gas.
Il vapore prodotto da Novel è interamente ceduto allo stabilimento di Radici Chimica SpA, per essere utilizzato nel ciclo produttivo.
